Gunmen kidnap the daughter of lawmaker in Kano

A member of the Kano State House of Assembly, Murtala Musa Kore’s 17-year-old daughter has been abducted by people who are yet to be named.

According to sources, in the early hours of Sunday, July 19, the gunmen stormed the lawmaker’s home in Kore village in Dambatta Local government area and abducted Juwairiyya, an SSS2 student from Government Girls Jogana Secondary School.

Kore, who represents the Dambatta constituency, said on the incident

“I was in Kano at 2:30 am when I got a call from home that kidnappers had kidnapped my daughter, Juwairiyya. Invading my home, the abductors tied up my elder brother, Lawal Kore, who they had mistaken for me.

They went within the quarters of my family to check his assertion, though, when he told them that I was not home. They told my wives and kids they were there to abduct me and not ready to go empty-handed. And they abducted my daughter rather than me.

He said he had already told the police of the matter. State police are not yet reporting on the incident.
