Amotekun to use supernatural Forces to protect lives and properties: Commander

Amotekun Commander of the Ekiti State Corps, Brigadier-General Joe Komolafe (Rtd.) has revealed that they would deploy ancient, local and modern security strategies to fend off state kidnapping, robbery and other heinous crimes.

Speaking at Efon Alaaye during a sensitization tour to Ekiti West, Efon Alaaye and Ijero State local government areas, Komolafe stated that neglecting the traditional culture and patterns of exposing criminals is one of the reasons for the rising spate of crime in the South-West. He accused traditional rulers of deploying their supernatural prowess to secure their people’s lives and properties.

The commandant, who said that the security outfit would protect the Southwest from invaders who had constantly threatened the area, added that they would employ ancient Yoruba tactics of protecting territories and fishing off the hideouts of criminals.

Composing the security outfit, Komolafe said the first step of the recruitment was to create an intelligence-based outfit and then accommodate Amotekun ambassadors who would act as the agency’s informants. He further revealed that those who will make up the ambassadorial group would have no age-limit.

Stated by Komolafe;

“We want people who can go into the bush and provide us with native intelligence about criminal hideouts.
“People rose and battled invaders before us, and we want invaders to rise and fight, too. Such invaders came with all kinds of impunity, attacking, stealing, raping, and damaging the farm produce of people.
