THE Niger State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker Kassim Alfa resigned from his office on Thursday.
During plenary he tendered his letter of resignation and was immediately replaced by the member representing Lavun, Jibrin Ba’aba.
Ba’aba was sworn in after being seconded to and approved by the House by a member from the Paikoro Constituency, Suleiman Rabi’u, after his election.
Recall that the House, moved by Ba’aba last week via a motion, had replaced the House’s Majority and Deputy Majority leaders.
House Speaker Abdullahi Wuse, who read the letter of resignation from Alfa, did not mention any justification for action by the legislator.
That the recent drama followed a meeting held between the House leadership and the state governor, Abubakar Bello, at the Government House.
It was discovered that the issues addressed were related to the All Progressive Congress rocking crisis.
