How my husband pressured me to give up 15 babies through abortion: shururat tells Court

A mother of three, whose name is revealed as Shukurat Adewumi has accused her husband of manipulating her within the scope of her relationship to abort pregnancy 15 times. Shukurat was confirmed to be dissolving her 17-year-old marriage to her husband, Adewale, during a Customary Court sitting at Mapo in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, on Monday, September 7.

The woman who is alleged to be a nurse has allegedly claimed in her counter-argument before Chief Ademola Odunade, the president of the court, that her husband has threatened her life seriously.

She said, ”he forced me to have abortion 15 times, putting my life at risk. He denied paternity of my three children.”

She said, “Some years ago when he left me to live with his concubine, Adewale returned home well ill and I took care of him.

“For the past two years, he declined paternity of our last child and recently came home to steal the only gas cooker we have. Adewale smashed the cylinder on my forehead because I tried to prevent him from taking it away,” she said to news men

She continued, “I fainted and was hospitalized, his parents and relatives are all aware of his evil against me.Adewale has married two wives elsewhere,” Shukurat revealed.

Adewale also reveals that
“Never did I know that she was a hooligan and street fighter when I got married to her.

“She has caused me so much embarrassment and I can no longer withstand it. I want custody of my children if she remarries,”

In its decision, in the name of stability, Chief Odunade, embodied by Alhaji Suleiman Apanpa, dissolved the union.

The president of the court also granted the respondent custody of the three kids, and directed the plaintiff to pay N15,000 as their monthly feeding allowance. Once again Odunade directed Adewale to assume responsibility for the children’s schooling and other services.
