60 year old blind man charged to Court over alleged sodomy

The Dutse Chief Magistrates ‘ Court of Jigawa, on Wednesday, ordered a 60-year-old blind man, Muhammad Abdul, who allegedly tried to sodomize his guide boy, to be sent to the correctional centre.

The Magistrate, Mr Akilu Isma’il, who ordered Abdul to be sent to the Dutse Correctional Center, postponed the case until October 5 for further reference.

The police charged Abdul, who resides in the Yobe State Guru Local Government Area, with an attempt to commit an unnatural offence.

Earlier, the Senior State Prosecution Counsel, Mr Kabiru Warwade, told the court that Abdul had committed the crime on 8 September at 10 a.m. in Garko Quarters, Hadejia Local Government Area.

Warwade said that Abdul, lured the boy to the bushy area behind the Sharia Court, Hadejia, and tried to sodomize him.
The Prosecutor stated that the offense contravened the provisions of Section 95 of the Criminal Code.
