The Socio-Economic Rights and accountability Project (SERAP) has announced that it would prosecute President Muhammadu Buhari of the Nigerian Government.
According to SERAP, the lawsuit would also push the government to safeguard the lives and belongings of Nigerian citizens.
According to the rights organization SERAP, which sent a report to the International Criminal Court on Wednesday telling them of the suspected killing by the Nigerian military of demonstrators, the lawsuit comes after the government’s inability and reluctance to avoid the unfolding turmoil in the country triggered by the government’s failure to address the demands of the demonstrators of # EndSARS.
“President Buhari’s government seems unwilling or unable to stop the violence, looting and killings by armed thugs in Lagos and other places.
“We’ll sue to compel @NigeriaGov to protect people’s rights to life, security and liberty if this is not urgently addressed. #EndSARS,” SERAP tweeted.
