The state government of Kano has announced it will begin arresting traditional dealers of medicine who use obscene terms in the state when selling their goods.
Under the leadership of Health Commissioner Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, with KAROTA, Hisbah, and other security services as representatives, the state government has formed a committee to monitor the threat.
Dr. Usman Tijjani Aliyu, Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, declared this while addressing newsmen in Kano on Wednesday, adding that all preparations were made for the committee to start work.
He said that Hisbah and KAROTA workers were saddled with the task of arresting the defaulters before taking them to justice.
He added that traditional medicine sellers’ excess use of pornographic vocabulary has reached its height and that the state government can not encourage that to continue.
